Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy built the world’s first offshore wind farm for icy conditions in Tahkoluoto, Pori. The offshore wind farm consists of 10 turbines, and VRT Finland was supporting the installation by utilising multibeam sonar inspections and licensed inspectors to verify baseline data. The finalisation of the project by installing the erosion protection of the foundations and the sea cable was also ensured by VRT’s inspections.
Two weeks ago part of VRT’s sales team, Karri Koistinen and Pia Asikainen, packed their bags and flew to Oslo, Norway for Norsk Vann Årskonferansen 2017. This yearly conference is the place to be if you are involved with Norwegian water management; this year the event gathered together almost 300 water industry professionals from all over Norway and few of them also from abroad.

VRT’s team of analysis performs the structural inspections of underwater structures and analyse the data collected by surveyors. The job of team of analysis is central part of VRT’s services as they observe the structures and the possible structural damage. We interviewed our licensed inspector of marine structures, Henriikka Keskinen, about her job at VRT and know-how regarding to the process of analysis.
